1974 David Clyde Game Worn Texas Rangers Jersey. Even though he's hardly a household name, few players in history have had a greater effect upon the methodology of training Big League pitchers. A high school phenom billed as the next Sandy Koufax, the fire-throwing southpaw was just seventeen years old when he debuted in 1973, but his career was ruined almost as quickly as it began as overwork blew out his arm, leaving Clyde the ultimate tale of unrealized baseball potential. This tragic loss of Clyde's talent forever changed the manner in which young pitchers are developed. Here we present a home white knit gamer from Clyde's second Major League season, the last full year before an attempt at a 1978 comeback fell short. "Rangers" is applied in red and blue tackle twill to the chest, with "Clyde 32" on reverse. Interior collar is tagged "Wilson [size] 44" with "74" embroidered year swatch below. Solid wear with two missing buttons. A touching memento of what could have been. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
