Description

1968 Topps 3-D Tony Perez PSA NM-MT 8. It is a shame this set never made it past the test stage. In 1968, a company called "Xograph" produced the first cards we call "3D." It seems the effect didn't seem to go over too well in 1968 or was too condition sensitive, but by 1970, a 3D card was found in boxes of Kellogg's cereal. There are rumors of cards being sold in stores in Brooklyn (the home of Topps) in '68 but the known supply sneaking out the back doors of Topps and/or Xograph employees seems to be very plausible as well. This auction features a complete set of the twelve cards made in 1968. Our offered card features a star of the "Big Red Machine - HoFer Tony Perez. He is the only other HoFer next to Clemente in this set. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. There are twelve graded NM-MT with sixteen rated higher from a total pop of sixty-eight graded by PSA.
