Description

1968 Topps 3-D Roberto Clemente PSA NM-MT 8. The late-1960's and early 1970's was a very productive era for Topps who tested various projects utilizing a wide assortment of treatments and formats to enhance sales. A full two years before Kellogg's picked up the "Xograph" technology that gave cards a 3-Dimensional appearance, Topps test marketed an extremely limited number of cards of a dozen players, the key subject from the group is Roberto Clemente. 1968 Topps 3-D cards are found with a blank back or with a stamp saying cards are not for resale and to return to Visual Panographics, Inc. These cards are found so rarely it is very likely few ever saw any distribution beyond the Topps offices.

Graded at PSA NM-MT 8. The offered copy of the key to this card to this series offers a commanding portrait of Clemente. This prized Clemente collectible from one of the rarest Topps Test issues of the late 1960's rarely appears at auction in such a high grade.
