Description

1968 Topps 3-D John O'Donogue (No Team/Player Designation) PSA Authentic - Only Two PSA Examples! It is a shame this set never made it past the test stage. In 1968, a company called "Xograph" produced the first cards we call "3D." It seems the effect didn't seem to go over too well in 1968 or was too condition sensitive, but by 1970, a 3D card was found in boxes of Kellogg's cereal. There are rumors of cards being sold in stores in Brooklyn (the home of Topps) in '68 but the known supply sneaking out the back doors of Topps and/or Xograph employees seems to be very plausible as well. This auction features a complete set of the twelve cards made in 1968. Our offered card is an incredible rarity which features John O'Donogue but is lacking the players' name and team call out. Encapsulated PSA Authentic. There are only two examples confirmed on the PSA census.
