1966 Tug McGraw Game Worn New York Mets Jersey, MEARS A6. Tug McGraw was an integral part of three championship teams. He was 9-3 with a 2.24 ERA for the 1969 Miracle Mets, he saved twenty-five games for the 1973 "Ya Gotta Believe" Mets, and he posted twenty saves with a 1.46 ERA for the 1980 World Series champion Phillies.

He we present a gorgeous flannel gamer which Tug wore as a twenty-one-year-old during his sophomore season in the Major Leagues in 1966. The road gray jersey displays subtle blue accents to the flannel fabric and a seven-button front, with "New York 45" across the chest and "45" on the verso, all sewn-on in blue on orange felt twill. The Mets' fantastic "Skyline" disc patch adorns the left sleeve, while blue piping marvelously accentuates the collar and button path. Tagging includes "45-40" in black chainlink on a flannel swatch in the collar, with "Wilson 40," "Set 1," and "66" in the tail.

This specimen shows fantastic wear. Unfortunately, the numbers have been restored, which prompted MEARS to deduct four points and issue an overall A6 grade to this specimen. Still, a fantastic early Mets' gamer belonging to one of the most charismatic and beloved athletes in New York sports history. LOA from MEARS, A6. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
