1966-74 Brooks Robinson Game Worn Baltimore Orioles Cap. The Orioles debuted this charming format in 1966 and went on to capture the franchise's first World Championship since its founding as the 1901 Milwaukee Brewers (and 1902-53 St. Louis Browns), so there's definitely some magic in the design. This one was worn by the ultimate magician of the hot corner, a man who claimed an outrageous eighteen Gold Gloves and the adoration of countless millions during his twenty-three seasons of service to Orioles. Wear is massive, with darker staining at top and bottom of center of the visor where Robinson would adjust it between dazzling feats of defense. Number "5" appears in vintage marker on the underside as well. "Wilson" label at sweat-stained interior headband joins proper size "7 1/4" stamping at interior band. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
