    Description

1962 Topps Lou Brock #387 PSA Mint 9. In 1964, the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals made what turned out to be one of the most one-sided trades in baseball history. The Cubs sent future HoFer Lou Brock, Jack Spring and Paul Toth to St. Louis for Ernie Broglio, Bobby Shantz, and Doug Clemens. Brock would help win the 1964 World Series for the Cards thanks to a .348 batting average. St. Louis would win the World Series again in 1967 and the NL pennant in 1968. When Brock retired in 1979 he had 3,000+ hits and over 900 stolen bases. Ernie Broglio was out of baseball by 1966. This "pre-trade" relic is an outstanding high-grade rookie card of Lou Brock from the 1962 Topps series. As '62 fans know all too well, very high grade cards are rare due to the wood-grain borders. The card offers sharp corners, glossy and clean surfaces, and precision centering a hairline away from perfection. Graded PSA Mint 9. One of twenty-nine graded MINT with a pair rated higher.
