Description
1962 New York Yankees World Series Ring Presented to Joe Pepitone with Pepitone Letter. Despite his sixty-three games of service during his 1962 rookie campaign, primarily as a back-up to the outfielding core of Mantle, Maris and Hector Lopez, the Yankee brass decided that Pepitone hadn't earned a ring after the Bronx Bombers won the World Series that year. But, years later, on the recommendation of manager Ralph Houk, that mistake was corrected and Pepitone was issued this beautiful commemorative, struck from the same mold as the 1962 originals. That's a real diamond on the ring face, which trumpets the historic words, "New York Yankees, World Champions." Each shank is identical, featuring the classic hat and bat logo beneath a bold "1962." Interior band is stamped "10K," and engraved, "Joe Pepitone #25." Band is size twelve and a half (12.5). Weight is twenty-seven grams (27 g.). Pristine condition. Letter of provenance from Joe Pepitone.
