1959 Home Run Derby Mickey Mantle PSA VG 3.Today, the "Home Run Derby" is an event held before the annual All Star Game thrilling American and National League fans alike. In 1959, "Home Run Derby" referred to a very popular television program that showcased baseball's best home run sluggers in a contest of strength and skill. A scarce 20-card set was produced promoting the show, today they remain among the more scarce baseball cards of the 1950's. Flimsy card stock make them as condition sensitive as they are scarce. Offered is an extremely sharp example of the key to the series - Yankees legend Mickey Mantle! Fantastic looking card for the grade. The case has mild scratches but no creases on the card. There is very faint wrinkling but the grade will seem conservative to many. Current total PSA pop is just thirty. Graded PSA VG 3.
