    Description

1957 Topps Mickey Mantle #95 PSA Mint 9 - Only One Higher. At 407 cards in scope, the 1957 Topps set equaled the largest production by Topps since their 1952 effort but quantity meant nothing in 1957. Without any fanfare, this edition would set the standard for the modern era by utilizing a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" card size and introduced photographic portraits, a first for Topps. Ultimately, these nuances meant little as the summer of '57 was about fun, playing baseball, eating hot dogs, watching TV (if you were lucky) and eating mom's apple pie. This card appeared fresh off Mantle's "Favorite Summer" of 1956 in which he won the Triple Crown. The baseball world thought another Yankees championship was merely a matter of time. The Milwaukee Braves felt differently.

Graded PSA Mint 9, this card is one of twenty-two that have earn a Mint rating from PSA, there is just one rated higher. Lofty numbers until you consider the total population of over 5,400 this card currently stands as one of the top one-half of one percent finest known. The card is practically untouched and is in close to immaculate condition.
