1956 Topps Mickey Mantle #135 PSA Mint 9. When one talks about the all-time greats, the name "Mantle" is right there on the tip of your tongue. His storied career lasted 18 seasons, all with the New York Yankees. Next to the historical season of 1961 highlighted by the home run chase with Roger Maris, his "Favorite Summer" was certainly his Triple Crown year of 1956. His 52 home runs, 132 RBIs and .353 batting average helped the Bronx Bombers to a 97-57 record and "World Series Champions" accolades. Brooklyn Dodgers fans who hoped for some World Series lightening to strike twice would head back to Flatbush dejected.

Mantle is already flashing his big Oklahoma smile, almost as if he knew Triple Crown and American League MVP honors were in his future. This card is one of his most recognized and coveted card collectibles. For a collection to reach elite status, a mint card of one of the more important Mantle cards will certainly to the trick. Graded PSA Mint 9. In regards to condition, this presentation is a "perfect storm." A nearly unimprovable example. Searching for the faults responsible for "points lost," one sees only the subtlest of wear at just one corner tip. It seems foolish to ask for more. Colors, gloss, print registration, surfaces, borders - all accurately described as close to perfection. Even centering, which is the characteristic that usually keeps cards from rating higher is about as perfect as one will ever find. From any reasonable viewing distance, one is unlikely to spot any deviation from unimpeachable results. A glowing example where we can't imagine anyone being anything short of elated to add this card to their collection.
