Description

1954 Topps Hank Aaron #128 PSA NM 7. Offered is Hank Aaron's rookie card from 1954, exactly twenty years prior to him hitting an Al Downing pitch over the left field fence on April 8, passing Babe Ruth for the most career homers in MLB history with 715. Hammerin Hank would connect 40 more times before hanging up his cap. Many fans regard Aaron as the true "Non-Steroid Era" champ. For twenty-seasons, Aaron stayed healthy and consistent. Aaron never hit 50 home runs in a season. Perhaps if Aaron had played a good part of his career in New York, the enhanced media coverage of his early career would have made apparent Aaron's all-around skills. He was an outstanding right fielder with a fine arm, he could run, he hit for average (.305 lifetime), and, as did one of his early idols, Joe DiMaggio, he always threw to the right base. Aaron retired with 3,771 hits, two batting titles, and was a 21-time All-Star. High quality in all physical regards. Rated for centering. Graded PSA NM 7.
