    Description

1954 Boston Red Sox Team Signed Baseball with Harry Agganis. They called him "The Golden Greek," a homegrown hero and star quarterback for Boston University who Hall of Fame coach Paul Brown drafted in 1952 to succeed Otto Graham for the Cleveland Browns. But Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey won the battle instead, installing Agganis at Fenway's first base. Agganis suddenly fell ill early in his sophomore season, and three and a half weeks after his final Big League appearance he passed away from a pulmonary embolism on June 27, 1955 at age twenty-six. His flawless rookie signature appears with twenty-nine other equally bold examples from teammates including Williams (CH), Boudreau, Jensen, Baker, Kinder, Parnell and more. OAL (Harridge). Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
