    1952 Topps Jackie Robinson #312 PSA NM-MT 8. While it is of course true that there were African-American baseball players talented enough for the Major Leagues, no one should ever discount the accomplishments and status of Jackie Robinson. He forever changed the character of our National Pastime for the better and we understand that is an overly simplistic summation. Even in the (relative to the vast majority of the United States) racially diverse borough of Brooklyn, Jackie Robinson was considered by thousands "one of us" regardless of the color of his skin. Fans cheered for him. Fans loved him. Some young fans would march as men in Selma because their hearts and minds had been opened during those historic summer afternoons in Flatbush. Jackie Robinson was a great baseball player while his greatest gifts were to the soul of our nation, and arguably the most significant figure in the history of American sports.

    Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Only thirteen have graded higher. This card needs no lengthy description. Centering is close to perfect. Colors are vivid and rich. Surfaces are 99.9% blemish free save for one extra dash of printer's ink in the lower right corner. Gloss is fresh and vibrant. Corners all come to precise ninety degree angles with only tiny hints of wear, or simply no wear at all. A strong card with tremendous eye appeal to match its physical qualities.
