Description
1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253 SGC EX 5. In the post World War II era, the most important rookie card is card #253 from the Bowman baseball edition featuring a young man who would become not just a Hall of Famer but a certified legend. This is a very appealing example dominated by a very well-defined and richly colored portrait, all framed in glowing white. The reverse shows not a hint of the all-too common wax stains this set is known for. Graded SGC EX 5. A nice solid copy with rich colors that enhance a almost perfectly centered portrait. Based on this card one sees the "new" SGC seems to be a little more conservative.Auction Info
