1950 Enos Slaughter Signed St. Louis Cardinals Contract from The Enos Slaughter Collection. The St. Louis Cardinals enjoy a rabid fan base. Each spring, the city of St. Louis rejoices when the Cards fill the days and nights with baseball. Only eleven men have had their number retired by the organization. One of those, former owner Gussie Busch, never played for the team. Enos Slaughter enjoyed much of his success with the Cardinals. His number 9 will never be worn again. This contract brought Slaughter back for the 1950 season during which he hit .290 and was named an All-Star. Slaughter and a team executive signed inside in bold ink. Mailing marks are visible. Letter of provenance from Slaughter family. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
