Description
1947 Tom Ferrick Game Worn Washington Senators Uniform. The representatives of our nation's capital were the last team to abandon the "Health" patch that had adorned the jerseys of the Major League between 1942 and 1946 in solidarity for the war effort, and here we find evidence of the fact, that patriotic shield affixed to the left sleeve of the presented 1947 road grey gamer. Team logo "W" is affixed over the heart, with number "17" applied to verso in the same black felt format. Interior collar is labeled "MacGregor Goldsmith size 48" above an embroidered "Ferrick 17" swatch, with a similar swatch reading "1-47" denoting vintage at lower right interior tail.Matching pants are attributed to Ferrick in black marker at interior waistband, a hand-me-down from "Wooten 23," according to an embroidered swatch, worn "1-48," according to another. Solid game wear throughout, but no damage to report. Concluding the lot is a pair of white socks and an ancient packet of chewing tobacco originally found in the pants pocket. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
