    Description

1942 "Pride of the Yankees" Movie Poster, Louisville Slugger Advertisement. Lou Gehrig's story can create enough tears to fill Yankee Stadium. After his demise, Gehrig's heartbreaking tale was featured on the silver screen in "The Pride of the Yankees." Even the Babe makes a cameo appearance in the tear jerker. This 44x32" framed item was issued to promote the film and Louisville Slugger. Garnering eleven Oscar nominations, the film was solidly directed by Sam Wood, a brilliant and often overlooked director who directed some of the best scenes in Gone With the Wind. Tape marks are found on the edges from when this was displayed. There are visible folding creases throughout, too.
