    Description

1942 Mort Cooper Most Valuable Player Award Plaque, Presented in 1969. Twenty-seven years after Cooper recorded National League-best tallies for victories (22) and earned run average (1.78) en route to the World Championship, the local St. Louis chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America presented this award to the family of the 1942 National League MVP, who passed away at the tragically young age of forty-five in 1958. The attractive metal-on-wood relic measures 9x12" in size and is consigned to auction by the Cooper family directly. Letter of provenance from son of Mort Cooper.
