1942 Enos Slaughter Signed St. Louis Cardinals Contract from The Enos Slaughter Collection - World Series Championship Season! Enos Slaughter was at the top of his game when he was called to serve his country. A year before he left for the war, Slaughter finished runner-up to teammate Mort Cooper in the MVP balloting after hitting .318 with thirteen dingers, and ninety-eight ribbies, while leading the league in hits (188) and triples (seventeen). And the St. Louis won the World Series.

This contract paid the Hall of Famer nine thousand dollars. Slaughter signed as did fellow Hall of Fame executive Branch Rickey. A separate letter, also signed by Rickey in pencil, notes that Slaughter had received a thousand dollar increase in pay. Both pieces have customary folds. The original Cardinals' mailer and an acetate negative of Slaughter in his military uniform is also included. Letter of provenance from Slaughter family. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA (letter). Full LOA from PSA/DNA (contract).

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
