1938 Goudey Bob Feller #288 PSA NM-MT 8 - None Higher. The 1938 Goudey series appeared early in the career of Bob Feller and it was a career year for the young pitcher who came from the farm in Van Meter, Iowa. Feller nearly doubled his innings pitched from the previous season while posting a 17-11 record averaging almost 8 strikeouts per game on his way to setting an American League record with 240 strikeouts. When Feller retired in 1956, Upon retirement, he would have 279 complete games to his credit of which 44 were shutouts, 3 were no-hitters and a dozen were one-hitters.

To entice sales, Goudey chose to simply add some career highlights and small cartoons to the backgrounds of the final 24 cards with Feller appearing on card #264 which meant card #288, which brought to a close the gum makers 1938 promotion would also feature Feller.

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Pop nine when graded NM-MT with none higher. Following so many other cards in this set, centering is precise, colors are saturated, surfaces reveal no print imperfections. Who would not want to add one of finest examples on record of the final card from any set.
