1936 Goudey Lefty Gomez PSA NM-MT 8 - None Higher! If you believe the hype, the success of the New York Yankees was just the result of great hitters. Not true. The same credit goes to the pitching staff peppered with greats like Vernon "Lefty" Gomez. After earning the coveted pitching Triple Crown in 1934 with American League-leading numbers in ERA (2.33), wins (26) and strike outs (158), the Hall of Fame southpaw also led in W-L% (.839) and complete games (25). A nicely centered portrait along with high quality corners, lead to the PSA NM-MT 8 assessment.
