Description

1934-36 Diamond Stars Lloyd Waner (1935 Green) #16 PSA NM-MT 8. A small but mighty Waner, at 5'9" and weighing in at a whopping 132 lbs, broke into the major leagues with the Pirates in 1927 and quickly built his reputation as a slap hitter with an astute sense of plate discipline. In his rookie campaign, he batted .355 with 223 hits while only striking out 23 times (the highest strikeout total of his career). A lifetime .316 hitter and still holds the record for most hits over the first three season of a career with 678. This is a mark that only came close by Ichiro in his first three seasons accumulating 662 hits. The presented example is stellar in most aspects, from the sharp corners, to the vivid colors and amazing centering. A very solid PSA NM-MT 8.
