1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144 SGC VG-EX 4. Don't ever let anyone tell you there is nothing else left to be found. Our consignor who is an avid book reader was making the rounds at a local thrift store. That day was different. Finding a book he liked wasn't the prize as this very card was inside the pages seemingly being used as a bookmark. The book cost him $1.00. Not wanting for a total loss, he said the cashier charged him a whole whopping 50-cents for what the clerk called "the Ruth photo." We assured him he would not loose money on the sale. One of baseball card collecting's "Big Three," the 1933 Goudey set is rightfully considered a consummate masterpiece that saw fit to honor Babe Ruth on no less than four cards. Certainly there was none more recognizable than Babe Ruth striking his classic batting pose.

Graded SGC VG-EX 4. This is a solid example with no major flaws that is not just the set's but the hobby's most recognizable card.
