Description

1932 U.S. Caramel Bill Dickey #6 PSA Mint 9 - Pop One, None Higher! Bill Dickey was part of a staggering 14 World Series Championships during his stellar career with the New York Yankees as player and coach. Only Yogi Berra, who shares ownership of the number "8" jersey retired in Yankee Stadium's Monument Park, owns more New York Yankees World Championship rings than this man, who claimed eight as a player and six more as a coach and manager. Berra became the Yankees back-stop taking the role from Dickey. Dickey was the master who taught Berra the art of catching at the Big League level, making him arguably the most important Yankee ever to wear the tools of ignorance. His talents were apparent from the start. A famed Yankee scout was such a fan of the young prospect that he assured general manager Ed Barrow, "I will quit scouting if this boy does not make good." With Dickey behind the plate, a World Championship season attribution was nearly assured by the simple laws of probability.

Graded PSA Mint 9. A card that enjoys and will continue to for quite some time "Pop One-of-One With None Higher!" status. Like the man himself who at one time was the preeminent backstop, this relic has an unquestionable right to its preeminent status as the finest known example on the PSA census and probably in the entire hobby.
