1930's Babe Ruth House of David Original Photograph. The House of David baseball team was a traveling roadshow which dazzled crowds. Some of baseball's best joined the team from time to time. In 1934, the House of David considered signing Ruth to a contract but decided against it. This 3 5/8x4 7/8" photograph shows Ruth with a fake beard on. Henry Yee's research dates this to the 1930's. We aren't sure if the Yankees and House of David played an actual exhibition or Ruth was just hamming it up for the cameras. "D80" is stamped on the reverse.
