    Description

1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Dual-Signed Baseball. Never in the history of American team sports has there been a more dominant duo, each iconic Yankee launching dozens of long balls during seasons in which it didn't even require double-digits to reach the top ten in the category. So even Yankee haters have to tip their caps to the Bambino and the Iron Horse, who share space upon the presented sphere.

Rumor has it that these two didn't always see eye to eye, with fellow Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri famously quipping, "They didn't get along. Gehrig thought Ruth was a big-mouth and Ruth thought Gehrig was cheap. They were both right." Despite this personality clash, this pair authored the first great Bronx dynasty and remains forever linked in Monument Park, in Cooperstown, and in the hearts of Yankees fans worldwide.

In standard format, the Babe claims sweet spot honors for himself, but Gehrig applies his side panel signature near enough to Ruth's autograph to allow for simultaneous display. The single-season OAL stamping format (the Barnard presidential facsimile and "Pat'd. 1,530,410" stamping appeared together only in 1928) assigns this important relic to the Yankees' third World Championship season, and their first back-to-back Major League reign. The Hall of Fame sluggers appear in blue fountain pen ink, with Ruth's sweet spot signature rating 5/10 and Gehrig just below at 3/10. Handling wear is evident, but no unsightly blemishes. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
