1927 Ty Cobb Signed Original Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Even as he entered the twilight of his career, Ty Cobb still had those steely eyes and competitive edge against the opposition. From 1927-28, Cobb landed in Philadelphia where he closed out his playing days in style. Baseball's top hitter achieved a .357 average at the age of 40 and .323 during his final season. Normally, the Type 1 status of this original photo would take top honors but the signature on the side has our attention. Cobb signed this 5.5x7.5" photograph near his image in 8/10 fountain pen. Although the signature rests against a dark spot, its strength and size are noteworthy. There is a slight raise just below the second "B" in Cobb's last name. The reverse has "Ty Cobb" and an inventory number written in pencil. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
