1927 Pittsburgh Pirates Game One Full Tickets Lot of Seven Used At Ticket Counter at Forbes Field. "We won the World Series before it even got started," Babe Ruth explained. "The Pirates were the other club, and the first two games were scheduled for Forbes Field. Naturally we showed up a day early and worked out in the strange park. We really put on a show. Lou and I banged ball after ball into the right field stands, and I finally knocked one out of the park in right center. Bob Meusel and Tony Lazzeri kept hammering balls into the left field seats. One by one, the Pirates got up and left the park. Some of them were shaking their heads when we last saw them."

Not a single Pirate had reached the double-digit mark for home runs during the 1927 regular season, and the entire team output for the year stood at fifty-four, six fewer than Ruth's record-setting tally for the greatest season in both his career and the history of the franchise he had come to personify. A four-game Fall Classic sweep seemed inevitable, and, ultimately, it was.

While the series may have been more than a formality, the opening act took place at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. This sheet of seven full tickets, all voided out, was on display at the Forbes Field ticket office window. It was used by the team as a guide to help patrons find their seat section. The full tickets are glue affixed to a cardboard backing. All of the color combinations are covered. The first ticket is the grandstand version. Each ticket has multiple punch holes and "Void" written on the end. One side of the border has where the seat section is located written while "These are all tickets for for Grand Stand" appears on the opposite end. This listing was obtained by longtime worker Joseph O'Toole who began his long employment with the team in the ticket office. Ultimately, O'Toole served as an assistant GM in the 1970's. His collection is being offered in our Platinum Night sale and Fall Auction.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
