    Description

1922 E120 American Caramel Babe Ruth SGC 88 NM/MT 8 - Pop One, One Higher! While the superstar slugger's claim to fame was his habit of hitting home runs, his unfailing generosity of spirit ensured that his would be the most popular of all pre-war sporting legends. The tremendous demand for his cards and autograph for that matter, has nonetheless powered a sustained upward trajectory throughout the last 100 years since his baseball debut. Historically, the Babe's cards have been the hobby's hottest commodity. It has been commonly and properly stated that every great sports card collection begins with the Babe.

Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8. This card is the only example at this grade level, there is just one rated higher. Presented for the most discerning of collectors and die-hard Ruth fan is the finest E120 American Caramel card from 1922. Ruth is far and away the key card in the set. Ruth single-handedly changed the complexion of the game and helped to transform it with the prodigious long balls which came from his bat. This classic Ruth card portrays the Babe holding the baseball used for a contest to determine if surf caster could place a weight farther than Ruth could hit a ball. With a surprising breath, we can say the thin card stock is free of any wrinkles, creases, stains, blemish and almost no corner tip wear. The oval-shaped image of Ruth, much like his influence over the game, has seemingly remained untouched. This is a classic Ruth card and an absolute condition rarity.
