    Description

1921-23 Babe Ruth & Grover Cleveland Alexander Multi-Signed Baseball. Led by their brash young star, the Bronx Bombers captured three consecutive A.L. during the period this ball was signed, including their first World Series crown. The Sultan of Swat appears across the sweet spot of this OAL (Johnson) ball in an early and highly coveted format featuring the famed quotation marks. Fellow Hall of Famer, Grover Cleveland Alexander also signs in his extended format version. The other two decipherable signatures are Carl Mays and Wally Schang, both of which were teammates of Ruth at this time. There appears to be other names and inscriptions on the ball, however they are not legible.

The ball is grayish in color and has several scuffs but the league and league president stamps are still readily discernable. The Babe and Pete grade about a 2/10. Yet despite the condition concerns of the ball and its occupants, Babe Ruth signed baseballs from the early 1920's are in extremely limited supply. As such, whenever one does emerge, in any condition, it should be assessed with great emphasis placed on context, demand, and availability. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
