1915 New York Giants Silver Season Pass. There are aspects of the early game that are best left in the past--the spitball, the rampant gambling, the racial segregation. This, however, is not one of those things. For two decades, those lucky New Yorkers with the wealth or connections to gain favor with the Giants brass were rewarded in silver, relics today that are fiercely and properly coveted by the cultured collector. Our Permanent Auction Archives will provide a sampling of the variations, which included scoring pencils, a figural hand, gate and key. But this is only our second opportunity to offer this particular model, and it appears that only two specimens have taken a turn with any vendor on the hobby's auction block in the past decade. An incredibly detailed vista of the newly reconstructed Polo Grounds, sprung from the ashes of the 1911 fire, commands the obverse with an engraved attribution to owner "Bert Kenny," serial number "227." Reverse is a primer on official scoring. Condition is magnificent, with just a few minor abrasions visible only upon the closest inspection. Passes were constructed from aluminum this year as the First World War limited silver supplies. A thrilling relic from the days of Matty, Marquard, Merkle and McGraw.
