Description

1915 E106 American Caramel Eddie Plank PSA EX 5 - Highest Graded Example. From the American Caramel set of 1915, designated E106, comes this fantastic card of "Gettysburg Eddie" Plank. Plank was one of the great southpaws of the Deadball Era and the first lefty to win 300 games. He was a star twirler for the championship Philadelphia Athletics teams under Connie Mack, from 1901-1914. In 1915, he jumped to the Federal League to play for the St. Louis Terriers, and it is for the team he is noted as playing on this card, although he is depicted in a Philadelphia uniform. This card, graded as PSA EX 5, is visually striking, with minor corner wear being the only issue. A rare set with only fifteen Planks being graded at PSA.
