    Description

1915 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb #30 PSA NM 7. Although there was nothing that the word "sweet" would accurately describe the Georgia Peach, he does rank as the first or second most desirable entry from the hobby's most popular candy issue, appeared during what was another batting crown season for Cobb. What a thrill it must have been for a young child or an adult with a sweet tooth to pull out this card during a season that saw Cobb steal 96 bases, manage 208 hits and bat .369! In 1915, cards circulated inside boxes of Cracker Jacks or by mail-in offer which has made finding very high grade examples one of the hobby's more formidable pleasures.

Graded PSA NM 7. The bold coloring and artful portraiture that characterize the set are entirely evident and tailor-made to honor baseball's finest. The fragile paper stock is flat and without creases, wrinkle or stain. Corners show a very mild level of wear at the tips and not easily seen unless under magnification. Precise centering complete our assessment. A remarkably fine example of one of Cobb's best card collectibles.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
