Description

1914 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb #30 PSA NM-MT 8. Feared by most, but respected by all, Tyrus Raymond Cobb was the Machiavellian ideal of the early game, forging his Cooperstown bronze in the fires of natural ability and gritted-teeth determination. Though Cobb's staggering career hits tally of 4,191 was eventually eclipsed, his ultimate batting record remains his .366 career batting average. No superlative seems suitably appropriate for a card such as this, a nearly peerless amalgam of significance and aesthetics.

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of a mere handful to reach this condition plateau. This card features one of our favorite images of the Georgia Peach, rife with period details like the baggy flannel jersey with long sleeves and high collar, the wide grip on the bat. It is perfectly registered against the blood red background, reminiscent of the T206 card that many consider the definitive cardboard Cobb. Only a single specimen has surpassed this example on the PSA population chart--by just half a point--clear mathematical evidence of this relic's elite collecting stature.
