1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson #103 PSA Good 2 - The Nicest "2" on the Planet! We know. The first word to enter your head is "Why?" Common sense should tell you that no, PSA did not make such an odd assessment for such a historical card and no, we did not fail to have the card reviewed. It was 1914 when this gorgeous card rolled off the assembly line and into a box of Cracker Jack and for intents and purposes it looks the same now as it did over a century ago.

Joe Jackson is one the game's greatest hitters. He is pictured for what would be his last full season with Cleveland before his fateful move to Chicago. So perfect that he wields his trusty Black Betsy gripped tightly in his calloused farm boy hands. His trusted bat even guides the eye to the "Cracker Jack Ball Players" advertising. With no mail-in promotion available, finding cards totally void of the sticky candy extract grading Excellent or better is a monumental task. We should also note the scarcity of the 1914 series overall compared to the '15 edition.

Graded PSA Good 2. The front is impressive as is the reverse, the mild diamond factory cut confirms its authenticity. The assessment is accounted for by a very brief tear into the thin paper stock going into the top edge. Aside being affected by this incredibly hard to see but present imperfection, this is a strong example of one of the toughest singles in the hobby.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
