    Description

1909-11 T206 Sovereign 150 Ty Cobb (Green Portrait) PSA NM 7 - Pop One, None Higher for Brand! We all know the t206 series offers an array of tobacco brand options. Some are more appropriate than others. The dictionary definition of "sovereign" is a king or queen, the second, "one that exercises supreme authority within a limited field." Either is quite fitting for both the baseball icon himself and the exceptional representation it celebrates.
Ty Cobb was a complex personality, but the greatest figure of the Dead Ball Era was unquestionably the most determined ballplayer of his time (and perhaps of all time). Lou Gehrig has a habit of taking no rest after a concussion. Mickey Mantle lived every day like his last. Cobb brought the same gritted teeth fervor to breaking every record in the books that he did to breaking the jaws of those who disrespected him.

Graded PSA NM 7. Presented is a fitting tribute to the man who was quoted as saying, "I've got to be first all the time, in everything." It is one of the top 3% of the over 800 PSA submissions noted on their census. But this classic "Portrait-Green" varieties from tobacco's most popular issue stands alone atop the condition charts with none superior when paird the royal "Sovereign Cigarettes - 150 Subjects" advertising adorning the abck of this now 110-year old relic. There is very little to discuss in terms of physical shortcomings, which appear to be limited to some corner wear. Image color and registration might even impress Cobb himself, and the centering within the bright white borders likewise borders on perfection.
