    Description

1907-09 Dietsche Ty Cobb (Fielding) PSA EX-MT 6 - The Highest Graded Example! In 1907, the Detroit Tigers became the toast of the town by winning their first American League Pennant in the team's short history. As part of the celebration, there were multiple promotions, giveaways, etc. showcasing the team and individual players. Issued for the '07 World Series was a set of 16 post cards produced by the Dietsche Postcard Company of Detroit, today they are not the easiest collectible to encounter. The top name was the young hitter from Georgia named Ty Cobb. In fact, Cobb had two cards in this set, one of him batting (naturally) and this pose, a far rarer version of Cobb, with glove extended, about to catch a fly ball or simply his "Fielding" pose. In any condition, this variation is missing from a surprisingly high number of Dietsche collections. While we are proud to present any example, our offered card is the highest graded example in the hobby of this coveted Ty Cobb rookie year collectible.

Graded PSA EX-MT 6. The scarcity of this card is confirmed by census reports which show only twenty total examples on the PSA & SGC pop reports combined! There are only twelve PSA "Fielding" cards, however there are sixty-six of the "Batting" variety. This is the highest graded PSA example! The finest SGC examples are a pair graded VG+. In any condition this card sees spirited bidding.
