1902-11 W600 Sporting Life - Type 4 Eddie Plank (Uniform) SGC 70 EX+ 5.5 - The Only SGC or PSA Graded Example! He learned his trade on the blood-soaked grounds of America's most hallowed battlefield, fashioning his slab of baseball immortality with a side-arm curveball that earned him 326 Major League victories. The third winningest southpaw of all time behind Warren Spahn and Steve Carlton, "Gettysburg Eddie" is best recalled for his fourteen seasons of service to the first great Philadelphia Athletics dynasty. Just eight and a half years after pitching his last game, Plank fell victim to a fatal stroke at age fifty, but would earn his immortality twenty years later with a posthumous Hall of Fame induction already long overdue in 1946.

If the image that commands the central focus of this rare beauty strikes a familiar chord, you're likely recalling his famous T206, T204, E95 or E107. The identical Carl Horner portrait photograph was utilized for each.

Graded SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. But while the T206 Plank is properly esteemed and coveted for its scarcity, this is the only entry for a W600 Plank in uniform in an SGC holder! There are none noted on the PSA census! Hall of Famers are always the most desirable residents of any set, the fame of Eddie Plank ranks high among baseball's elite and this is a rare portrait that is also his most iconic. A spectacular opportunity for the advanced tobacco-era collector, and one unlikely to present itself again soon.
