    Description

1902-11 W600 Sporting Life - Type 3 Rube Waddell (Street Clothes-Philadelphia) SGC 30 Good 2. Offered is a rare appearance by HoF pitcher Rube Waddell of Philadelphia from the W600 Sporting Life cabinet card series. Infamous for showing up drunk for games on a regular basis, his legendary manager Connie Mack once remarked, "The Rube has a two million dollar body and a two cent head." Rube became a member of baseball's elite in Cooperstown in 1946, despite his personal demons. Graded SGC 30 Good 2. This card is one of only four Waddell W600's in street clothes on the SGC census. Our offered card is Type 3 "Street Clothes" portrait with the Philadelphia team caption.
