Rick Ferrell Signed Washington Senators Jersey. Rick Ferrell is remembered as one of baseball's most durable and reliable catchers during his 18-year MLB career (1929-1947), primarily with the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, and Washington Senators. Known more for his defensive skills than his offensive power, Ferrell was a solid, intelligent catcher with excellent game-calling abilities. He was an 8-time All-Star and was highly respected for his leadership behind the plate.
