    Description

Early 1960's Stan Musial Game Worn St. Louis Cardinals Cap with Musial Family Letter. Very heavy wear on this navy blue gamer suggests a complete season of wear at a minimum, though the superstition of the average Big Leaguer certainly opens up the possibility that the dirt and sweat infused into the dark wool is the result of multiple campaigns. We'll also theorize that this is the cap that Stan the Man carried home after clearing out his locker for the last time, and thus the very one that was on his head as he put the last touches on his Hall of Fame resume. The cardboard in the visor is broken in a couple spots but this fact is not apparent except when handled--the aesthetics are not harmed in the slightest. A silver sharpie autograph on the visor exhibits impressive 9/10 boldness. Great wear, great provenance--what more could you want? Letter of provenance from the Musial family. LOA from MEARS, Authentic. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
