    Description

Early 1940's Al Milnar Game Used Glove from 56th Game of Joe DiMaggio's Hitting Streak. We'll let Mr. Milnar's included letter of provenance tell the story:

"Dear Seth: I used one glove during my career (1936-43, 1946) played mostly with the Indians. I played plenty a ballgame with that glove and I used it during a historic game--I was the last pitcher to give up a hit in Joe DiMaggio's famous 56-game hitting streak in 1941. I gave up 4 hits to Joe during the streak. I used the glove in all of those games. Before I donated the glove to the Ohio Baseball Museum, I signed my name on the back over the pinky finger. Sincerely, [signed] Al Milnar."

Glove expert Joe Phillips chimes in with a letter attesting that this Ken Keltner model "Rawlings KKX" fielder's glove first debuted in 1940, so Milnar's recollection is a bit off, but we're still confident in the streak game attribution. The glove certainly exhibits a ton of use, and Milnar's signature is just where he describes it, applied in 10/10 black sharpie. Letter of provenance from Al Milnar. LOA from Joe Phillips.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
