    Description

Circa 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Batting Helmet. Classic fiberglass format was a common sight on the heads of legends Clemente and Mazeroski, with the number "18" written in marker on interior padding of this particular example suggesting original ownership by either Bill Virdon or Matty Alou. Logo "P" is partially loose on front. "American Baseball Cap [size] 7 1/4" labeling inside. Strong game wear. Letter of provenance from Ron Cardo (former Milwaukee County Stadium batboy). LOA from Heritage Auctions.
