Circa 1960 Kansas City Athletics Game Worn Jacket. The long-suffering whipping boys of the American League, the Athletics were almost a farm club for the New York Yankees, delivering such stars as Roger Maris, Ralph Terry and Hector Lopez to the Bronx. Each would have likely owned a garment like this one, but the number "24" sewn in white tackle twill above the left sleeve cuff would relate to either Wally Burnett (1957-58), Bob Davis (1958), Dick Hall (1960), Lew Krausse (1961) or Diego Segui (1962). Garment exhibits heavy wear, mostly at sleeves at waist. "Wilson [size] 48" label appears at faux fur-lined interior. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
