Circa 1957 Wes Covington Game Worn Milwaukee Braves Jacket. Keeping warm in the dugout has never looked better. Absolutely gorgeous suede-lined warm-up jacket borrows heavily from the jersey style worn during the most dominant era of Milwaukee Braves history, when Aaron, Mathews and Spahn led the club to two National League flags and a World Championship. Two-tone scripted "Braves" is applied to the zippered chest above the classic tomahawk iconography. Interior collar holds "Wilson [size] 48" labeling, and just below is the outline of a tag which surely once held Covington's name. Condition is marvelous, with no damage to note. A rather heavy garment, well-suited to chilly autumn nights in Wisconsin. Consigned by Covington's widow, with her letter of provenance. Letter of provenance from Covington's widow. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
