Circa 1910's Baseball Full Uniform in Carrying Bag. An intriguing look into the traveling life of a semi-pro ballplayer. This unique satchel was once the personal possession of Richard Cole, centerfielder for the Iowa Hawkeyes for the incredible span of twenty-seven seasons. Uniquely designed, the canvas bag with "Spalding" tagging unrolls to expose a heavy wool flannel jersey with Cole's name sewn in felt across the chest. Also here are the pants, the cap and the woolen stirrups, all as they were left after Cole's last game. In a belted pocket is a pair of well worn spikes and an ancient jock. Condition of all pieces is particularly strong, with any wear clearly from game action rather than the perils of age. Loaded with the charm of the early game, and perfect for display.
