    Description

Jersey is the very last worn for a complete game!

2014 Derek Jeter Game Worn & Signed New York Yankees Uniform from Second-to-Last Game & Hit of His Career.
For nearly two decades, he'd been a thorn in the side of Red Sox Nation, but the fans at Fenway showed nothing but love for the departing Captain as he bade farewell to the game on enemy grounds, even going so far as to chant "Der-ek Je-ter" as he stepped to the plate in the top of the first. Many had wondered if Jeter would follow in the outbound footsteps of fellow pinstriped legend Mariano Rivera, who chose the Bronx as the site of his last stand, but those who knew the superstar shortstop well understood that--even with the hopes of October action already dashed--he would play out the season to the bitter end.

He'd strike out in the first, but single in the third for the 3,464th hit of his ultimate career tally of 3,465. In the fifth, Francisco Cervelli would take over his DH spot, allowing the aging veteran to put up his feet and enjoy the the conclusion of his penultimate Big League game as a spectator.

This is the road grey uniform worn by Derek Jeter the day before he hung up his Louisville Slugger for good as the sixth most-productive batter in Major League history. The included letter of provenance from Steiner Sports notes that Jeter would wear multiple jerseys for his final career appearance the next day, establishing this as the very last worn for an entire game.

The time-tested design provides a navy and white tackle twill "New York" on the chest, giving way to a number "2" on reverse that Jeter has signed in 10/10 silver paint pen with his handwritten notations reading, "Game Used 9-27-14, Hit #3464." Lower left front tail is tagged "Majestic Athletic Authentic Collection" with "2014" year and size "46" flap tags. Just below, three serial-numbered stickers are affixed in documentation of the garment's supreme significance.

Matching pants bear "Majestic Athletic Authentic Collection" tagging at interior waistband, the typed text indicating the garment was carried over from the previous season: "#2 Jeter 35-40 36 OB '13." Again, we find the requisite serialized authentication stickers.

Both pieces exhibit the light game wear one would expect from two at-bats in a designated hitter role. Jersey: MLB Authentic HZ518521. Steiner Sports 238007. NY Yankees 0000005020. Pants: MLB Authentic HZ518522. Steiner Sports 208034. Full uniform: LOA from Heritage Auctions.Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
