Description

2013 Mariano Rivera Last Ever Game Worn & Signed New York Yankees Uniform.

They'll still wear number "42" on every anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut, but this is the very last to be worn under the "grandfather rule," the uniform that the first ever unanimous Hall of Famer was wearing as he walked off a Major League field for the last time as a rostered player. The Yankees' 162nd game of the 2013 season came at the Astrodome on September 29, 2013, three days after Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte strode out to the mound at Yankee Stadium to end their fellow Core Four member's playing days in a beautiful, tear-jerking display of love and respect. In far more ways than one, this was the end of an era.

The time-tested Yankee design announces "New York" on the chest and the now universally-retired number "42" on verso. Lower left front tail is tagged, "Majestic Authentic Collection" with "2013" year and "46" size flap tags below. Various Yankees, Steiner and MLB stickers are affixed nearby. Rear numerals are signed in 10/10 silver sharpie: "Mariano Rivera, My Final Game, 9-29-13, Game Used."

Matching pants are here too, with interior waistband tagged, "Majestic Authentic Collection #42 Rivera 35-40 35 OB '13." Again, we find Steiner and MLB authentication stickers here as well. Wear is appropriately light throughout the ensemble. MLB Authentic EK809428. Steiner 200772. MLB Authentic EK809459. Steiner 200770. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
