The best Kershaw jersey on the planet!

2008 Clayton Kershaw Major League Debut Game Worn & Signed Los Angeles Dodgers Rookie Jersey with Photo Match to Preseason Start. Not one but two first appearances at Dodger Stadium appear in the history of this remarkable garment, introducing the only pitcher in franchise history to match Sandy Koufax' tally of three Cy Young Awards. The experts at MeiGray attest to the first match, a March 30, 2008 preseason appearance at Chavez Ravine that saw Hiroki Kuroda and Kershaw blank the Red Sox in the final game of spring training. That appearance got tongues wagging in the City of Angels, particularly an insane curveball to Sean Casey that looked like it would pass behind the Red Sox first baseman's back before taking a hard turn to strike him out looking.

But it would take almost two months before Kershaw would get the call every minor leaguer dreams of, and he made his Major League debut on May 25, 2008, pitching the first six innings against the St. Louis Cardinals and exiting with the score tied at two. Kershaw himself attests to this historic significance, notating his 10/10 silver sharpie signature on rear numeral, "MLB Debut, Game Used, 5/25/08, 7 K's."

The design of the jersey is classic and instantly familiar, even if the red number "54" that adorns the front in red and the back in blue is less so--Kershaw would switch to number "22" before his rookie season was over, and he will undoubtedly be the last to wear it. "Dodgers" spans the chest in blue script, with "Kershaw" arching gently across the shoulders in three-inch block lettering. Left and right sleeve provide logo "LA" and "Los Angeles Dodgers 50th Anniversary" patches respectively. Lower left front tail of the "Cool Base" garment is tagged "Majestic Authentic Collection Size 50" with a "Property of Los Angeles Dodgers 2008" label below. Solid game wear evident. Two LOA's from Steiner Sports. Photo Match LOA from MeiGray. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
